Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Product Owner with deep experience in the financial services domain. This role focuses on modernizing enterprise-grade advisor billing systems and data platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of product management expertise, data fluency, and strong stakeholder engagement skills-including regular interaction with EVP/SVP-level leadership. Experience with advisor fee billing is a plus, but a finance background is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate as a hands-on Product Ownerwith the ability to work independently-no Business Analyst support provided.
  • Translate complex financial business logicinto clear, data-driven requirements and documentation.
  • Create data mapping artifacts, process flows, and system diagrams using tools like Lucidchart, Miro, or Visio.
  • Collaborate directly with stakeholders including finance, operations, and engineeringto align on data functionality and system behavior.
  • Lead Agile ceremoniesincluding sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives using JIRA.
  • Drive large-scale data platform and billing system migrations, working with multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Understand, query, and work closely with database structures, applying data analyticswhere needed to interpret business rules.
  • Ensure product documentation is comprehensive and implementation-readyfor technical teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experiencein financial services or fintech in a Product Owner or equivalent role.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with EVP/SVP-level stakeholdersand manage executive alignment.
  • Strong technical foundation-must be comfortable working with databases, data flows, and structured queries.
  • Experience with data mapping, analytics, and reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in JIRAand strong familiarity with Agile software developmentpractices.
  • Experience using Lucidchart, Miro, Visio, or similar tools for diagramming and workflow documentation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communicationskills.
  • Experience in advisor fee billing is a plus; finance domain experience is required.
