Position Summary
Oversee departmental business development, financial performance, and staff management at the local level.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Collaborate with office managers and practice leaders to develop and implement strategic growth plans.
Expand the department s presence in the local market through targeted marketing and business development efforts.
Manage the department s financial budget and distribute resources effectively.
Lead the preparation and review of proposals.
Provide technical expertise and support to project managers and technical teams.
Determine staffing needs and allocate resources for the section.
Recruit, interview, and hire section staff.
Conduct performance reviews based on feedback from project managers and team leads.
Provide leadership and ongoing performance management, including setting expectations, establishing goals, giving feedback, conducting one-on-one meetings, and coaching team members to support their professional growth.
Required Experience
Bachelor s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
10+ years of horizontal structural (bridge) engineering experience.
Experience in project management and business development.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Experience
Experience working with local clients at the county and state levels.
Supervisory or team-lead experience.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a standard office environment. The role is primarily sedentary with occasional standing or walking. Lighting, temperature, and general conditions are typical of an office setting, with no significant exposure to noise, dust, or other hazards.
Must Have
Bachelor s degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited program.
Professional Engineer License.
10+ years of horizontal structural (bridge) experience.
Project management and business development background.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
