Associate Systems Engineer

The 787 Airplane Level Integration Team (ALIT) is looking for a talented Systems Engineer to support the 787 Program in Everett, Washington.

The position is for a Systems Engineer responsible for providing guidance on sustaining requirements management and development assurance processes in an aerospace engineering environment. Further responsibilities will include learning and teaching new systems engineering processes as they're developed. A rapid ability to learn and disseminate new information will be critical for success in this position.

This position will require occasional travel to Charleston, SC for training and/or coordination with other ALIT team members. It may also require travel to 787 partner and supplier locations as part of an assessment team.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Provide client design teams with subject matter expertise in systems engineering, including:
    • Requirement development and validation activities
    • Requirement verification definition
    • Requirement deviation definition
    • Ensuring quality and safety are part of the development process
  • Facilitates discussion of requirements deviations during requirements review boards
  • Provide guidance on use of Modification Impact Analysis (MIA) processes for 787 Program
  • Drafts supporting process documentation for Systems Engineering process changes, as required

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 2+ years related work experience
  • Proficient utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective communication, organization and team-oriented skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with Boeing Commercial Aircraft products
  • Teaching or technical mentoring experience
  • Background in requirements management
