Your role and responsibilities

Data Engineer, IBM Corporation, Chicago, IL:

  • Assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements to enhance data infrastructure scalability, optimize data delivery, and automate manual processes.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from a variety of data sources.
  • Curate and maintain data for metrics and evaluation to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure critical data points are captured and effectively utilized.
  • Partner with data providers and backend API developers to normalize schemas and define data flows for persistence and analytics.
  • Design, build, test, and automate data collection and pipelines for operational and analytical needs.
  • Develop dashboards and other data visualization tools for data analytics.
  • Implement and integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) models to enhance data-driven decision-making.
  • Use Agile methodologies to develop and iterate on software, ensure continuous delivery and improvement.
  • Utilize: SQL, Python, Linux/Unix, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and ServiceNow.

Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Data Engineer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing SQL, Python, Linux/Unix, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and ServiceNow. $160555 - $180600 per year. Full time. H249.
