Senior Network Engineer

ONSITE FROM DAY 1 (50% - 70% ONSITE)

• The ideal candidate would have broadband service provider experience, but they are willing to talk to those who have experience with multi-site enterprise connectivity (e.g. WAN engineer).

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, optimizing, and supporting our telecom network infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of telecom network systems and protocols, as well as a proven track record of implementing and supporting complex telecom networks.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement telecom network infrastructure, including routers, switches, access and transport equipment, and other network hardware and software.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Monitor and analyze network performance, identify and troubleshoot network issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal network performance and reliability.
• Provide technical support to customers, internal teams, and vendors, including resolving network-related issues and answering questions related to network operations and maintenance.
• Collaborate with other engineers and technical teams to design and implement network solutions and ensure interoperability with other systems and applications.
• Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in telecom networking and incorporate them into the network infrastructure where appropriate.

Requirements:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in networking or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of telecom network systems and protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS or Segment Routing, and SIP.
• Experience with network hardware and software. Experience with Arista, Cyan, Calix, Harmonic, Ribbon, or Ruckus/Brocade is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work with network equipment vendors and external consultants.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Willing to perform overnight maintenance windows and be on call.
