Position Description:
Sr. Materials Engineer for Medtronic, Inc located in Danvers, MA. Perform process design, development, and materials selection to support new and improved extruded catheter sub-assemblies; perform and maintain polymer rheological characterization program to shorten materials selection process benchmark melt properties. Work with multi-layer Extrusion or Injection Molding process & coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Leverage Installation qualification (IQ), Operational qualification (OQ), Performance qualification (PQ) to develop new process while authoring validation reports. Work with various polymer resins. Provide daily production troubleshooting & yield improvement. Apply Design of Experiment (DOE) & Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools to optimize process. Leverage root cause investigation as part of problem solving, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action). Develop tooling maintenance plan and overseeing tool readiness. Implement and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Position works a hybrid model and will be onsite in Danvers, MA - 4 days per week. #LI-DNI
Basic Qualifications:
Master's degree in Plastics Engineering or related engineering field and two (2) years of experience as materials engineer or related occupation in plastics, process or manufacturing engineering. Must possess at least two (2) years' experience with each of the following: Extrusion & molding process and project engineering including continuous improvement project including Multilayer Extrusion; Process & Tooling development & Validation including IQ, OQ, PQ; Supporting/ troubleshooting daily process and yield improvement; DOE & SPC; Authoring validation & risk assessment documents and work instructions; Root cause analysis and CAPA; Polymer resins and tooling maintenance; Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Position works a hybrid model and will be onsite in Danvers, MA - 4 days per week
Salary: $109,100 to $152,400 per year
