Job Title: Disaster Recovery Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Disaster Recovery Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive the execution of our Business Resiliency and Disaster Recovery programs. This role is crucial for ensuring technology and business continuity risk management, aligning with regulatory requirements, and strengthening enterprise resilience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance within financial institutions.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Execute the Business Resiliency Program, identifying enhancement opportunities to strengthen the organization’s recovery capabilities.

Enable Technology and Line of Business adherence to Business and Technology Resiliency/Continuity risk management programs.

Lead the design and development of resiliency controls, ensuring business and regulatory expectations are met.

Execute and oversee Business and Technology Resiliency/Continuity risk management programs, conducting risk and control self-assessments and quality assurance reviews across Technology and the Lines of Business.

Provide expertise on Business and Technology Resiliency/Continuity risks, collaborating with Technology teams, subsidiaries, and risk partners (e.g., Independent Risk Management, Compliance, Audit).

Lead or influence resiliency risk initiatives and business-as-usual activities, identifying risks, assessing their impact, and recommending resolutions.

Report and escalate risk and program compliance issues as appropriate.

Regulatory Compliance & Audit: Ensure the organization meets financial regulatory requirements, actively participating in audit exams and mitigating risks related to business continuity and data recovery.

Enterprise Experience: Leverage 6+ years of enterprise IT experience to develop and implement effective data recovery solutions.

Technology Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate technology risks within financial environments.

Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency: Utilize PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint to create reports, presentations, and documentation.

ServiceNow Expertise: Utilize ServiceNow to track risks, manage incidents, and automate resiliency processes.

Incident Response & Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis response strategies to minimize data loss and service disruptions.

Training & Awareness: Educate teams on business continuity, disaster recovery best practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience: 6+ years in business resiliency, risk management, and disaster recovery planning in enterprise environments, preferably in financial institutions.

Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial regulations, audit processes, and risk assessment frameworks.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint) and ServiceNow for IT risk management.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to assess enterprise risk and develop proactive resiliency strategies.

Project Management: Experience managing business continuity, disaster recovery, and enterprise risk management projects.

Communication Skills: Ability to effectively convey complex risk and recovery strategies to diverse stakeholders.

Certifications (Preferred): CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), CISSP, CISM, ITIL, or similar.
