The role is for a senior telecom specialist or supervisor who designs, installs, and manages communication networks (like phone and data systems), oversees other technicians, and works independently.

Having Corning Fiber certifications can replace some college education requirements.

This role is for someone who manages and oversees complex telecommunications systems such as voice (phone), data (internet), and possibly video networks and also supervises other technicians or engineers doing related work.

It s a senior-level position that requires both technical expertise and leadership skills.

    • Or an equivalent manufacturer certification

Job Details:

Performs advanced and supervisory telecommunications work. Work involves selecting and integrating system components for voice and data telecommunications networks; installing, maintaining, and coordinating the installation and maintenance of telecommunications networks and computer hardware attached to these networks; and supervising the work of others. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Corning Fiber Installation (CFI), Corning Fiber Testing and Troubleshooting (CTT), or an equivalent manufacture certification may be substituted for thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Requirements:

  1. Telecommunications related experience to include VoIP and Voice Management.
  2. Bachelor's degree from a college or university. Major course work in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Management
  3. Full-time, wage-earning experience in installation, maintenance, repair of telephone and PBX telecommunications systems including cable splicing, installation, remote programming moves, changes to electronic key and digital PBX systems.
  4. Telecommunications related experience to include knowledge of telecommunications principles, equipment, procedures, and terminology.
  5. Knowledge of the analysis and design of telecommunications systems.
  6. Knowledge of Standards for Structured Cabling (EIA/TIA 568 Standards).
  7. Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
