    This position is the Aerospace lead technical advisor for analytic support to the Headquarters U.S. Space Force (USSF) staff. The successful candidate will provide technical advice and analytical support to the HQ USSF's Chief of Analysis and the Chief of Strategy & Resourcing Office. You will help define, create, and institutionalize the technical underpinning of the Space Force's strategic budgeting and planning process.     This is a full-time position both in the Aerospace Crystal City facility and the Pentagon.

    What You'll Be Doing
    • Provide a range of analytical support and technical advisement to Headquarters USSF
    • Lead technical advisor to USSF/CTIO/S9, Chief of Analysis. Provide relevant insights on analysis flowing between the USSF, DAF, and OSD offices
    • Provide direct support to USSF/CSRO/S8, identifying ways to inject analytic rigor into the USSF planning and POM process. This includes coordinating enterprise analysis support across both Aerospace and Government modeling capabilities.
    • Provide the USSF with the technical ability to take a holistic, rigorous look across all space mission areas, developing resource informed force-structure options, and guiding strategic resource decisions through the FYDP and beyond
    • Provide a conduit for HQ USSF staff to access additional Aerospace corporate technical expertise and analytic resources
    • Work across multiple Aerospace and Government offices to gather key analytic inputs, conduct analysis, and socialize subsequent results
    • Work across the space analysis community to make sure analytic baselines are being well-managed and are accessible
    • Work collaboratively within Aerospace to ensure comprehensive technical expertise is applied


    What You Need to be Successful

    Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in science, engineering, mathematics, or another relevant subject
    • Twelve or more years of increasingly responsible and related engineering/technical experience and a minimum of 3 years of experience in modeling and simulation
    • Experience successfully executing undefined and complex technical tasks
    • Understanding of enterprise and/or resource analysis including familiarity with related tools and methodologies
    • Familiarity with space mission areas and national security space
    • Ability to work effectively with senior Government officials
    • Excellent full-spectrum communication and interpersonal skills; adept at written and oral communication spanning a wide range of levels of detail and communication media/processes.
    • Ability to travel
    • Ability to work in the office with limited teleworking (subject to change)
    • This position requires a current TS/SCI clearance issued by the U.S. Government and ability to obtain a SAP clearance. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.


    How You Can Stand Out
    • Advanced degree from an accredited program in science, engineering, mathematics, or another relevant subject
    • Expertise in Systems Engineering, Enterprise Analysis, and Systems of Systems Engineering
    • Previous experience working with organizations in the Pentagon and understanding of the USSF (HQ and subordinate organizations) roles, responsibilities, and functions
    • Familiarity with Department of the Air Force/USSF/National Security Space planning and requirements processes.
    • Working knowledge of Aerospace FFRDC roles and responsibilities
    • Demonstrated ability as a self-starter, in strategic, planning and in working effectively with other contractors, FFRDCs, peers, and government customers, at all levels
    • Experience with other (non-USSF) DOD and/or IC agencies involved in national security space
    • Current SAP/SAR accesses
