    Description

    SAIC is looking for a highly motivated and customer service oriented Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) for Aurora, CO. This role may require up to 10% travel time.

    The AFSO will continue support to established security programs based off government and corporate requirements. The AFSO will primarily focus on activities related to Aurora, CO with addition responsibilities and support to other Colorado sites. The AFSO must be a self-starter with the capability to work independently alternating roles depending upon program security needs and contractual obligations.

    The AFSO must have a working knowledge of the 32 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) Part 117 (NISPOM), Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA), and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), to include ICD-705 (Physical Security).

    The AFSO is responsible for creating a secure environment and administering security programs and procedures in order to protect classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. The AFSO will execute a security posture that protects classified material to include storage and access. The AFSO is responsible for security management and operations within the assigned activities and organizations. The AFSO will study and implement federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Obtaining rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies. The AFSO will prepare manuals and training to outlining security regulations, and establish procedures for handling, storing, records keeping, and granting access to personnel and visitors. The AFSO will conduct security trainings, audits, self-inspections and incident reporting.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Self-inspections/Government inspections as required
    • Maintaining and implementing security compliance with corporate and government manuals
    • Security awareness training and education
    • Personnel Security and coordination with the SAIC PERSEC Service Center
    • Interpretation and training of classification guidance
    • Interpretation and training on DD-254 security guidance
    • Physical Security and coordination with the SAIC PHYSEC group
    • Coordination with multiple entities related to active programs
    • Operations Security (OPSEC)
    • Site and program meeting attendance
    • Interface with program offices/managers
    • Maintain a relationship with Government representatives to include the assigned PSOs and Industrial Security Representative (ISR)
    • Communication to security leadership
    • Indoctrination briefings/debriefings and training presentations
    • Provide prime/subcontractor security support and direction
    • Identify efficiencies and implement best practices
    • Write plans to include concept of operations (CONOPS) and other applicable planning documentation based on requirements
    • Provide support to other security disciplines and sites
    • Perform general office and clerical responsibilities as needed
    • Routinely operates within these databases - SIMS/NISS/DISS
    • Ensure proper handling of classified materials

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Education:
    • Must be a US Citizen
    • Must have an active Top Secret U.S. Government security clearance with SCI Eligibility
    • Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) FSO certification with possessing curriculum within six months
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the design and execution of security programs in accordance with 32 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) Part 117/NISPOM
    • Proficient in understanding Intelligence Community Directives with an emphasis on ICD-705 (Physical Security)
    • Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems and provide focused solutions
    • High degree of professionalism and attention to detail
    • Bachelors and three (3) years or more of related security experience; Masters and one year of related security experience. Four additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

    Target salary range: $75,001 - $85,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

    Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
