Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sr. Data Scientist to join our team as a Technical Specialist. This role demands a deep understanding of machine learning, statistics, predictive analytics, big data, and AI. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product teams, and strategic customers to develop and implement impactful business solutions. You must have strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Understanding and Impact
- Understand project objectives from a business perspective and assist senior leads in project assessment, including risks, requirements, and constraints.
- Contribute to the development of project plans and share insights with stakeholders.
2. Data Preparation and Understanding
- Assist in data collection, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Use analysis techniques and tools like SQL and Python to clean, transform, and organize data.
- Develop a foundational understanding of statistical methodologies and adhere to privacy policies.
3. Modeling and Statistical Analysis
- Learn and apply various modeling techniques, including regression analysis, decision-tree building, and neural networks.
- Collaborate with project managers and development engineers to integrate machine learning and AI-driven features into products.
4. Evaluation
- Assist in testing models on production data and analyze model performance.
- Incorporate customer feedback into model evaluation and contribute to review processes.
5. Industry and Research Knowledge/Opportunity Identification
- Stay updated with industry trends and participate in research conferences.
- Contribute to thought leadership and best practices within the discipline.
6. Coding and Debugging
- Write readable code and contribute to the development, testing, and optimization of code.
- Develop a basic understanding of debugging techniques and Agile methodologies.
7. Business Management
- Develop an understanding of data structures and their relationship to customer business strategies.
- Identify growth opportunities and explore potential applications of machine learning.
8. Customer/Partner Orientation
- Manage customer expectations and enhance customer excellence.
- Assist in interpreting results and communicating insights to customers, with a focus on data quality's impact on model accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications
- Passion for new innovative technology and driving customer transformation.
- Ability to travel domestically and work with diverse cultures and customers.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage different audiences and present effectively.
- Balance between business and technical acumen, with the ability to lead and motivate technical communities.
- Adaptability to change and the ability to handle customer-critical issues.
- Ability to evaluate business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and develop appropriate solutions.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep expertise in machine learning, statistics, predictive analytics, big data, and AI.
- Experience in developing production ML/AI solutions with a track record of business impact.
- Interest in professional basketball (nice to have, but not required).
