About the Role

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our Business Analytics and Testing Support team for IT projects. This role involves working in both Agile (Scrum) and traditional Waterfall methodologies within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). You will play a key part in analyzing business processes, developing requirements, and ensuring quality through testing and traceability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to understand business processes and identify pain points
  • Conduct root cause analysis and propose effective solutions
  • Document requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Create process flows, context diagrams, and data flow diagrams
  • Break down requirements into Epics, Features, and user stories
  • Assist in backlog management and maintain traceability
  • Develop conceptual prototypes and mock-ups
  • Define and execute test plans, including regression and user acceptance testing
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience delivering business and systems analysis artifacts
  • 5+ years as an Agile Business Analyst with strong Scrum knowledge
  • Expertise in requirements gathering, backlog management, and acceptance criteria
  • Experience with large, multi-module systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Application Lifecycle Management tools
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CBAP and/or CSPO certification
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server and automated testing tools (e.g., TestComplete)

This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $57.00/hr.
