The Finance Technical Project Supervisor serves as the Finance Technical Project Supervisor for UC Davis Health (UCDH), which encompasses the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, Practice Management Group, Medical Center and Research groups. UCDH generates $2.5 billion in revenue, has an over $7 billion capital plan and employs 13,000 staff, faculty and students. UCDH is significantly reliant on information technology, as all financial information and reporting is transformed into a sophisticated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in coordination with the UCD Campus (ERP) system.

Responsibilities
The Finance Technical Project Supervisor is in a highly specialized role that supports and advises the Finance System Manager regarding business applications and processes with a financial impact. The Finance Technical Project Supervisor is responsible for supporting users of finance systems by providing specialized knowledge of business applications and processes. Primarily acts as liaison between UCDH Business Operations, UCDH Finance, UCDH Human Resources, UCD Campus, UC Office of the President (UCOP), UCPath Center, and the financial systems stakeholders and users, and functions as a supervisor for various finance systems and subsystem implementations and improvements. Provides finance and technical leadership, project management and system integration expertise for the UCD Health Finance systems. The Supervisor works with cross functional teams and subject matter experts to help plan and execute the design, testing and implementation of the financial systems and subsystems, such as general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, capital finance, banking and government reimbursement.
Plans, coordinates and monitors scope, requirements, schedules, budgets, resources, tasks, risks, staff and deliverables for the UCDH Payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely employee pay to UCDH employees, is compliant with UCOP requirements, is responsible for the production and accuracy of biweekly and monthly pay files transmitted to UCPath. Organizes and leads activities relating to the management and completion of technical and systems projects, creates specifications for systems to meet requirements; validates requirements against needs, develops user interface design; plans and executes unit integration and end-user acceptance testing; develops training materials for end users; develop standard operating procedures for staff. Monitors the project from initiation through completion.
Required Qualifications
AICPA Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) credential
(or)
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) credential
Several years of experience supervising small to moderate sized teams
Several years of experience within payroll and/or finance
Advanced knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems
Experience with financial systems, including general ledgers, and budgetary systems
Experience in system implementations, data management and business process design and improvements.
Excellent technical skills with Excel, ERP systems (preferably Infor-Lawson), PeopleSoft, Time and Attendance, Ansos and SQL scripting
Demonstrated experience developing written and oral decision-focused presentations and leading groups to consensus within a designated
timeframe
Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to independently research, develop, and recommend solutions to complex problems along with the ability to present complex data, visually, orally and in writing, to facilitate decision-making
Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization at all levels.
Knowledge of the organization's operational, personnel, and financial transactions and systems.
Project management skills, including planning, establishment of objectives, procedures and standards in order to develop and maintain
records and paperwork in clear, logical manner.
Service orientation skills
Strong organization skills, financial expertise, communication, and negotiation skills
Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent education and experience and/or training
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Knowledge of time and attendance processes and applications and Payroll processing for a minimum of five years highly desired
