Mid-Level Okta Access Management Engineer

This company is seeking a Mid-Level Okta Access Management Engineer to configure, integrate, and deploy Okta within client environments. This role is critical in implementing Identity and Access Governance solutions, ensuring secure authentication services and protected information distribution.

The company is located in the D.C. area and will remain 100% remote, the candidate needs to be local to the area.

Clearance Requirement:
  • Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Migrate applications from the IBM WebSEAL platform to Okta.
  • Design, develop, configure, integrate, test, and deploy Okta authentication solutions with LDAP services using SSO, MFA, PIV/Smartcard, and Identity Providers.
  • Implement user stories and requirements from the Agile board into Okta capabilities.
  • Deliver development tasks within two-week sprints.
  • Develop technical architectures for integrating identity management, access management, and governance solutions into client infrastructures.
  • Utilize programming languages and tools, including Okta REST APIs, Sign-in Widgets, SDKs, Java, JavaScript, JSP/Servlets, and SQL.
  • Collaborate with a distributed team, often in a virtual environment, to support IAM applications.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in designing, configuring, deploying, and supporting Okta solutions in production environments.
  • Experience implementing customized solutions within the Okta platform.
  • Familiarity with authentication protocols and technologies, including SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, biometrics, PIV/CAC/Smartcard, PKI, FIDO 2.0, and passwordless authentication.
  • Experience with Okta Directory integrations, user management, and application integration.
  • Okta certifications preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Identity & Access Governance, access control, and request processes.
  • Technical architecture experience integrating IAM solutions into client infrastructures.
  • Proficiency in Okta REST APIs, Sign-in Widgets, SDKs, Java, JavaScript, JSP/Servlets, and SQL.
  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills.
