Job Title: Lead Structural Project Engineer

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Lead Structural Project Engineer to join their renewable energy team. This role involves leading design teams and ensuring project timelines are met. The successful candidate will be responsible for the structural design of foundations and ancillary structures for utility-scale wind, solar, transmission line, and substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead design teams and ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Design structural foundations and ancillary structures for various utility-scale projects.
  • Prepare and direct the creation of structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
  • Review and approve project submittals and RFIs.
  • Support field activities during construction.
  • Provide professional and technical support to multiple projects.
  • Offer day-to-day support and input to internal and external Project Managers.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • EIT/FE or PE certification required; S.E. registration is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318).
  • Knowledge of shallow and deep foundations, including spread footings, slab-on-grade, piles, and concrete caissons.
  • Experience with connection and anchorage design, including cast-in-place, post-installed, welds, and high-strength bolts.
  • Proficiency in steel member design, including wide flange, channel, pipe, plate, and angle sections.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Proficiency with structural engineering software such as Mathcad, STAAD, RISA, Enercalc, and LPile is a plus.
  • Knowledge of bridge design and evaluation is advantageous.
  • Background in geotechnical engineering, solar and wind energy, transmission and distribution, and substations is a plus.
  • AutoCAD drafting experience is a plus.
  • Effective verbal communication and technical writing skills.
  • Attention to detail and quality assurance in own and others' work.
  • Sound engineering judgment.
  • Effective time and workload management skills, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Minimal travel required.
