Job Details
Title: NeuroSymbolic Systems Senior AI Software Engineer
Mission: Build and productionize hybrid AI systems that combine knowledge graphs, ontologies, and neurosymbolic reasoning with ML components to deliver explainable search, inference, and decision support.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement knowledge graphs and ingestion pipelines using Neo4j; model entities, relationships, and provenance for production use.
- Author and maintain ontologies/semantic schemas (OWL/RDFS/SHACL or mapped propertygraph schemas) and translate competency questions into graph queries.
- Develop neurosymbolic pipelines that combine embeddings/LLMs with symbolic rules, logic engines, or reasoners to enable hybrid retrieval and inference.
- Optimize Cypher queries, APOC procedures, and graph performance for scale and low latency.
- Collaborate with ML engineers and product teams to integrate graph signals into models and expose APIs/services.
- Establish testing, CI/CD, and governance for schema evolution, data quality, and explainability.
Required qualifications
- 5+ years software engineering experience with 3+ years building knowledge graphs or semantic systems.
- Handson Neo4j experience (data modeling, Cypher, APOC, import pipelines).
- Strong background in ontology engineering (OWL/RDFS, Protg, SHACL) or equivalent semantic modeling.
- Experience integrating ML with symbolic systems (embeddings, LLMs, rule engines) or neurosymbolic research/practice.
- Proficiency in Python or Java, REST API design, and production deployment practices.
- Excellent communication and ability to translate domain requirements into ontologies and graph schemas.
Nicetohave
- Experience with graph ML (Neo4j GDS), SPARQL, or enterprise KG tooling.
- Prior work on explainability, knowledgebased QA, or semantic search.
- Contributions to opensource neurosymbolic projects or KG tutorials/publications
