Job Description
The Manager (Banking Core Application development) supports the Core Banking Application (Symitar) development, maintenance, support, and technical direction.
An ideal candidate demonstrates leadership, operational, and development expertise around application development, preferably around the Symitar application and financial system supporting tools. This position collaborates with other business and IT teams to build a service-oriented culture; promote technology strategies; and manage continuous improvement initiatives to support technology teams and operational excellence.

- Lead team to strengthen technology processes, architecture, and team culture.
- Lead team in delivering project objectives by following standard project management and QA processes to manage project activities.
- Ensure teams develop and maintain documentation, user guidance manuals, and Application Recovery Documentation for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
- Lead Change management and Continuous Process Improvement initiatives. Manage Change Approval Board (CAB) process to follow ITIL processes.
- Work with IT Infrastructure teams to ensure performance management, incident management and capacity planning is done properly for all business systems.
- Collaborate with IT Team Managers, and business partners to identify opportunities to automate manual processes and ensure best practice configurations are implemented and maintained
- Vendor selection, managing vendor relationships and SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
- Implementation and support of critical system integration, Technology solutions, project prioritization, and execution
- Budget management, scoping
- Compliance management: must adhere to all laws, rules, regulations, and internal controls, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, and Fair Lending regulations.
Required skills/experience:
- 5 or more years of technical experience with IT Systems and processes with 3 or more years of management and leadership experience developing and leading teams.
- Expert knowledge of application development and operations, preferably around the Symitar application, and financial system supporting tools.
- Good knowledge of modern software development processes and techniques, SDLC methodologies.
- Experience with Infrastructure and application systems.
- Experience with modern software development processes and techniques.
- Hands-on experience with application development and systems integration tools and processes.
- Experience with Quality Assurance, Project Management, Business Analysis, Software Development, database, core banking, enterprise architecture, and 24X7 support.
- Experience in a medium to large organization, managing a high volume of transactions and application development.
- Preferred experience in banking, Credit Unions, and/or financial institutions, including Core Banking experience.
- Demonstrated ability to be service-focused, and to use good judgment and decision-making skills.
