Job Description
The IT Healthcare QA Consultant will be responsible for designing, executing, and overseeing testing activities to ensure the stability, reliability, and compliance of technical solutions used within a large-scale healthcare environment. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to validate requirements, assess system quality, and drive improvements throughout the SDLC.
Daily Duties & Responsibilities
Perform tests on technical solutions to identify, isolate, and resolve issues.
Develop test plans, QA processes, UAT plans, and detailed test cases based on business and technical requirements.
Design and support user interface testing and regression testing frameworks.
Conduct application testing to ensure system reliability, functionality, and performance.
Execute negative testing, usability testing, and overall quality assurance validation.
Lead QA-focused assessments that expose security risks, detect defects, and highlight optimization areas.
Design and/or execute automated testing scripts, including overseeing their deployment.
Create documentation and QA reports as needed.
Follow established QA governance, policies, best practices, and recommend process improvements.
Maintain QA databases including defect logs, user feedback, survey data, and enhancement requests.
Collaborate with product teams and software engineers to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance system performance.
Conduct reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections while adhering to governance standards.
Required Skills (Ranked by Importance)
3+ years experience translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios.
3+ years building test cases and scenarios for test systems.
2+ years experience testing IBM Curam software.
Strong ability to develop and document test scenarios/cases and execute testing activities.
Ability to clearly communicate and publish status reports, identify gaps, and articulate issues to development teams.
Required Education
Bachelor s degree in a technical, business, or related field
(Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.)
Preferred Skills (Ranked by Importance)
5+ years large enterprise or e-business systems experience.
Deep knowledge of healthcare operations (preferably Medicaid) and related business processes.
Proficiency with Atlassian tools JIRA, Confluence.
Experience with standard SDLC methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
