URGENT REQUIREMENT

Job Title: Data analyst Data Transformation Program

Location: McLean, VA

Duration: 12= Months

Onsite position

(Locals only or nearby location to DC or Maryland)

Mortgage Experience is MUST.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct in-depth data profiling of source and target systems to assess structures, anomalies, and readiness for migration.
  • Analyze complex ETL logic, particularly in IBM DataStage, to extract and document transformation and business rules.
  • Lead development of source-to-target mapping specifications, including transformations, joins, filters, and derived fields.
  • Collaborate with business, engineering, and governance teams to define and validate data requirements and lineage.
  • Document metadata, business terms, and mapping relationships in Collibra, ensuring alignment to enterprise standards.
  • Support testing, validation, and reconciliation efforts by tracing lineage and comparing expected vs. actual outcomes.
  • Mentor junior analysts and help enforce data quality, documentation, and metadata standards across the program.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in a data analyst or technical business analyst role with a focus on data transformations or migrations.
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with data profiling and validation across large datasets.
  • Proven experience working with ETL tools, with the ability to interpret complex logic (IBM DataStage preferred).
  • Expertise creating detailed source-to-target mapping documents and documenting transformation logic.
  • Experience working with Collibra for metadata management, business term definitions, and lineage tracking.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead discussions with cross-functional teams.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with enterprise data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, NoSQL, GraphQL-based APIs).
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and enterprise data models.
  • Background in financial services, insurance, or regulatory reporting environments.
  • Exposure to JSON, XML, or API-based data integrations.
