Java Software Engineering Manager

    A well-known brand in the hospitality sector is looking to bring on a Software Engineering Manager to join immediately To be successful in this role you bring the combo of technical understanding of large-scale web services architecture/development in Java and the soft skills needed to lead and manage a team of developers. This will include solid project management and execution skills along with general people management. This is a great opportunity for a lead or principal to step into their first full engineering management position. Required Skills & Experience
    • 6+ years of experience in software development and delivery
    • Proven experience delivering large scale web and mobile platforms
    • Hands-on experience building enterprise-grade / distributed Java applications
    • Knowledge of enterprise Java and its ecosystem of tools and technologies
    • Web technologies - JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.
    • Deep understanding of API architecture and development (SOAP and REST)
    • Relational (SQL) databases
    • Experience with Jira or Rally or similar
    • Familiarity with infrastructure deployment methodologies
    • Agile/Scrum
    • Code reviews, source control management, and build processes
    • Working knowledge of infrastructure - storage, operating systems, servers, networking, etc.
    • Working knowledge of cloud platforms
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or similar
    Desired Skills & Experience
    • 1+ years experience in a development manager or lead/principal position
    • AWS or other public cloud
    • PMP, CSM, or similar certifications
