Salary: $40.00 USD Hourly - $50.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer - FEA for a contract-to-hire position.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Finite Element Analyses (FEA)

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support the design of US Navy test facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical system design development, manufacturing, and/or testing, preferably in propulsion systems or mechanical machinery. They should also have a strong background in finite element analyses (FEA) of structures and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop FEA Models:
    • Create finite element models from CAD files to analyze mechanical components and systems.
  2. Analyze Design Requirements:
    • Review design requirements and establish criteria for conducting FEA simulations.
  3. Document Analyses:
    • Conduct and document analyses to assess the suitability of designs.
    • Make design recommendations, supported by engineering sketches, to address any design issues.
  4. Review Engineering Drawings:
    • Review and check engineering drawings related to propulsion system structures and/or machinery structures.
  5. Collaborate with Project Team:
    • Communicate effectively with other members of the project team.
    • Interact with the customer's technical personnel as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
  • ship and DoD Secret Clearance:
    • Must be able to qualify for a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
  • Education:
    • Possess a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Professional Experience:
    • Have at least 5 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Work Environment:
    • Work in an office environment, but flexibility in work schedule is provided.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
