Job Title: AWS Data Engineer

Location: California (Hybrid/Remote options available)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled AWS Data Engineer to join our growing data team in California. The ideal candidate will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure using AWS services. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flow, integrity, and availability for analytics and business intelligence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines using AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift, and EMR
  • Integrate structured and unstructured data from diverse sources into centralized data lakes and warehouses
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs
  • Implement data security, governance, and compliance best practices
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure optimal performance
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval using SQL, Python, and Spark
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes for real-time and batch data processing
  • Develop dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, QuickSight, or Power BI
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services: Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda, Athena, EMR
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and lakehouse architectures
  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics or Solutions Architect
  • Experience with Kafka, Airflow, or Databricks
  • Background in machine learning pipelines or big data platforms
