Job Description

The ADAS ( Advanced Driver Assist Technology) group develops state of the art software and algorithms to deliver best in class features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, 360 Camera Systems, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist. The team is responsible for the full end to end delivery of these features into production on all Ford vehicle lines.

What you'll do...
  • Support the development and integration of core radar and object tracking products on future vehicle program applications for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
  • Lead the system engineering of relevant functions, requirements, interfaces, and associated quality product that compose the sensing and perception stack
  • Develop the performance requirements for the sensing system relative to the feature attributes to ensure correct sensor performance envelop for the specific vehicle application
  • Lead the association of functions and their requirements to the hardware and software elements
  • Lead and develop the validation strategy of the sensing and perception system through leveraging analysis tools, test cases, etc.
  • Develop and support factory and online radar alignment strategies and vehicle application / integration
  • Support the development of Interface specifications, FMEAs, FTAs, robustness discipline design, and dependent fault analysis for safety related functions and features.
  • Support Sign-off of the sensing and perception system through review of test results
  • Develop technical excellence amongst the engineering staff through review of work product and technical mentorship


You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 10+ years of technical experience with production ADAS system
  • 5+ years of technical leadership in electrical automotive systems
  • 5+ years of experience with requirement specification development


Even better, you may have...
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience with automotive radar product development, including multiple generations of release
  • 10+ years of experience leading and mentoring technical engineering staff
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated languages / tools
  • Experience with radar-based object Tracking systems and their application across a fleet of vehicle programs
  • Experience with the systems integration of vision-based ADAS subsystems
  • Experience reviewing, categorizing and analyzing field data to determine error states/failure modes
