Seeking a Director of Facilities to lead the management of hard and soft services for a Life Sciences site in DeSoto, KS.

This role will oversee the seamless management of self-delivered and contracted services, including maintenance, grounds, predictive and preventive programs, and property infrastructure. The Director will manage subcontractors, skilled trades, and internal teams while ensuring compliance, budget adherence, and operational excellence. Acting as the primary point of contact for client and internal stakeholders, this leader will drive alignment, foster strong relationships, and deliver measurable results. Strong financial acumen, strategic leadership, and proven experience in multi-service facilities management are essential.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead and manage complex facilities operations, ensuring strong stakeholder relationships and customer-focused service delivery.
  • Oversee all workplace services including maintenance, asset planning, energy management, and EHS compliance.
  • Direct self-performed and contracted hard and soft services with strong contractor management and operational oversight.
  • Drive financial accountability through budgeting, forecasting, and cost control aligned with performance goals.
  • Collaborate with firms leadership and clients on contracts, scope, and strategic facilities planning.
  • Manage maintenance scheduling, vendor performance, and CMMS systems (SAP/Maximo) to meet KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and building standards while maintaining operational excellence and facility appearance.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities management, preferably within a life sciences, corporate, or highly regulated environment.
  • Proven expertise in managing multi-service facilities operations, including both self-performed and subcontracted services.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, with demonstrated success in budget development, forecasting, and cost management.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Position Summary:

  • The Director of Facilities Operations is responsible for directing facilities maintenance operations of building(s) and property at a single unit.
  • The Director of Facilities Operations manages the preventative maintenance and reactive repair of skilled trades, e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, utilities; and manages the hiring, training and supervision of staff, professionals and management.
  • The Director of Facilities Operations manages a safe and efficient working environment, essential to the performance of the business.
  • The Director may oversee construction work and often manages other core services, and/or logistics of business/operations services, e.g., grounds keeping, laundry, food, security, inventory, mail, concierge services.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience 5 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience 5 years
