The Information Systems and Cyber Division couples the latest in technologies, such as cloud, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in digital engineering, software architecture, software engineering, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our IC, DoD, and civilian customers.

This position will be a hybrid work model and offers partially remote, with some onsite work required in El Segundo, CA.

What You'll Be Doing
- Providing software systems engineering skills to space, ground, and launch systems in the national security, civil, and commercial domains.
- Applying skills and adaptability in various areas that may include resolution of software systems issues. Support may include software development; software architectures; enterprise systems; technology recommendations; cloud and virtualization deployments; microservices and API development; and systems modeling.
- Identifying exciting and innovative opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges.
- Influence team members with creative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk taking.
- Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed
This position can be filled as a Software Engineer (Engineering Specialist) or Sr. Software Engineer (Sr. Engineering Specialist)
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for Engineering Specialist:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university program in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
- Typically 8 or more years of industry work experience.
- Ability to lead tasks and work on multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong software engineering life-cycle experience and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Distributed systems, cloud native application patterns and tools, microservices architectures, application migrations to cloud platform.
- Model-based software engineering and complex systems modeling.
- Alternative software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.).
- Posses a high level of personal and professional accountability.
- Willing to travel occasionally.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Minimum Requirements for Sr. Engineering Specialist:
- All of the above requirements for Engineering Specialist
- Typically, 12 or more years of industry work experience.
How You Can Stand Out

- Master's degree from an accredited program in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
- 8 or more years of industry work experience.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in two or more of the following areas:
- Distributed systems, cloud native application patterns and tools, microservices architectures, application migrations to cloud platform.
- Model-based software engineering and complex systems modeling.
- Alternative software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.).
