Additional job details and special considerations

The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the service of one (1) Software Engineer 3 position who meets the general qualifications of Software Engineer 3 and the specifications outlined in this document for the above-named customer. The Software Engineer 3 contractor position is part of the HHSC IT Administrative Applications Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team and will play a crucial role in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining RPA solutions. The Software Engineer 3 will perform developer duties that will include solution design and development, process automations, infrastructure management, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The contractor role is for a senior robotics developer for technologies that may include Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, and Azure. The role will be responsible for developing, testing, and troubleshooting bots that will automate various business processes. Hands-on experience with Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, and Azure is a must along with the ability to troubleshoot and validate HTTP responses. Knowledge of DOM, HTTP protocol, JavaScript, and HTML is also required. This will be a fast-paced project working in an Agile (Kanban/Scrum) environment.

Required skills:

  • 8 years of Hands-on experience with RPA development, with at least 4 years specifically using Blue Prism
  • 8 years of Experience with web development including HTML, JavaScript, DOM and HTTP protocol
  • 8 years of Experience with SQL/No-SQL databases
  • 8 years of Experience with RESTful web services

Preferred skills:

  • 4 years of Experience with API development
  • 4 years of Experience with process discovery, requirements gathering, and solution architecture
  • 4 years of Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, or Python
  • 3 years of Experience with Azure infrastructure including troubleshooting
  • 3 years of Experience with software development using Agile methodology
  • 1 year of Experience with Power Automate development
  • 1 year of Blue Prism Certification
  • 1 year of Microsoft Power Platform Developer Certification
  • 1 year of Prior experience supporting Health and Human Services and OIG

Position is ONSITE/Hybrid at the location listed above (with some hybrid work determined by the hiring manager). The program will only accept LOCAL ONLY candidates for this position. (Onsite Days, Mondays and Tuesdays) and (Remote Days, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays).

The program will only allow candidates who are LOCAL TO THE AUSTIN AREA ONLY.
