    The Senior Technician will be responsible for the delivery of superior service to the internal customer at Penn Medicine. This will be accomplished through the planning, coordination and programming of telephony platform Moves, Adds, and Changes; Installation Support, Preventative Maintenance; Standard Maintenance; Emergency Support; Network and Circuit Acceptance Testing; Escalations, and Peer Mentoring.

    Aside from normal daily activities this position would also be responsible for the management of platform software patching, system backup maintenance and onsite technical assistance.

    Minimum Requirements

    Required Education and Experience

    • High School graduate or GED required. (Bachelor's degree preferred.)
    • 5-10 years' experience in telecommunications required.

    Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications

    • Certification and/or Superior knowledge of the following Avaya Platforms
    • Call Manager
    • CMS
    • Modular Messaging
    • Session Manager
    • System Manager
    • One X Portal
    • Circuitry - including Analog, T1, PRI, SIP
    • Set level programing for both the Northern Telecom Norstar and BMC platforms a plus.

    Required Skills and Abilities

    • Basic telephony skills, including, but not limited to troubleshooting and repairing of both TDM and IP Based Systems.
    • Minimum of three years' experience in Avaya PBX Suite - routing, telephones, voice mail, and basic vectoring.
    • Candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills.

    As part of our COVID-19 response, this position may currently be offering partial or full remote work. However, in the near future this position will require full or partial on-site work.
