responsibilities:
- Leading Infrastructure Design Tier III functions to include: design and documentation audit, planning excellence, solution assistance & 3rd party support;
- Leading Infrastructure Design Tier III from a technical perspective to ensure compliance with Infrastructure process
- Assessing complex technical situations and shaping appropriate actions;
- Resolving technical issues arising from network, server, database, and desktop integrations & failures
- Resolving Infrastructure issues that fall outside defined procedures;
- Overcoming immediate technical obstacles by directing action as they are encountered within granted authorities;
- Participating in on-call for responding to after-hours requests that are identified as critical for implementations that have not transferred to maintenance;
- Performing incident response activities in accordance with Incident Response process
- Delivering needed Tier III technical support for:
- Business user technical consultation for all physical and virtual environments.
- Business user technical issues that have been escalated for all implementations supported by Infrastructure Design.
- Server based security applications
- Server based application technical issues and resolution
- Network and connectivity issues (routers, switches, circuits) and resolution
- Updates, patches, and upgrades to all servers supported by Infrastructure Design
- End-to-end system optimization of applications as assigned by Manager
- Maintaining the virtual storage and backup health guidelines for the enterprise and related replications
- Collaborate with other Tier III staff to provide guidance as needed for the installation and configuration of new network and server assets.
- Configuring IT assets and making needed modifications to optimize system performance and availability.
- Effectively configuring to best practice virtual and physical systems, as well as third party hosted services as required by internal customers;
- Diagnosing emerging system, server, network and security problems and initiate actions to prevent and/or overcome the problems identified;
- Working effectively and cooperatively with full commitment on tasks assigned by the Infrastructure Design Manager;
- Effective written and verbal communication, planning, and documented handoff of applications pending acceptance of other Tier III teams.
qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study
7 or more years' experience in a technically diverse support environment;
5 or more years' experience supporting three or more of the following technical disciplines at an enterprise level: virtual environments, network storage, cisco networking, security, telephony, SQL, server level system administration.
2 or more years of related IT Lead/Supervisory experience of three or more staff.
Experience working with 3rd party vendor support.
CCNA Required
Financial services industry experience preferred.
Relevant technology certifications preferred:
Citrix SD-WAN Certified
Citrix NetScaler
VCP-DV
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Broad knowledge of Information Technology environments, support and technologies.
Extensive (Tier III Level) knowledge of at least 3 technologies including: server, network, storage, backup, and security
PC skills to include One Note, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Ability to effectively communicate technical knowledge and expertise to other professionals, regulators and credit union staff.
Outstanding track record of delivering technical support that meets business and member needs/expectations.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical, technical and conceptual skills with attention to detail
Results oriented with a strong focus on the customer (both internal & external)
Ability to tailor communication style to different audiences and to exercise good judgment in frequency and nature of communications to different parties.
Effective time management and prioritization skills
Strong vendor management skills
Strong service orientation to align needed support to the desired business outcome
Strong collaboration and teamsmanship to all Credit Human departments
Strong general knowledge of Microsoft & Cisco standards and products.
Strong time management skills
Preferred experience with SDWAN, HPE Aruba, or Azure Cloud, CommVault Backup
