Full Stack Developer

OVERVIEW

Hendall Inc. is seeking a Full Stack Developer to support the SAMHSA Behavioral Health Services Information System Project to support SAMHSA's Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ). Ideal candidates should be comfortable with both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries.

In December 2016, the 21st Century Cures Act (Cures Act) was signed into law and codified CBHSQ. CBHSQ conducts national surveys tracking population-level behavioral health issues. CBHSQ also provides statistical and analytical expertise; both activities support the Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use and the Secretary of HHS. CBHSQ maintains several data collection systems and surveys on key topics in U.S. behavioral health. This position will support the (BHSIS), which collects information on the U.S. behavioral health treatment system and connects people with substance use and mental health treatment through the Behavioral Health Treatment Services Locator.

DUTIES

• Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
• Writing clean, functional code on the front- and back-end
• Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues
• Devising solutions to remediate issues
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of code and applications
• Help maintain code quality and organization
• Document features based on project specifications
• Provide application support on as-needed basis

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of full stack development experience
• Able to work in a team environment and collaborate well with others
• A self-starter with strong self-management skills
• Familiarity and experience with traditional and hybrid web apps
• At least 4 years of experience with Javascript: React or Vue frameworks or JQuery
• At least 4 years of experience with Html5 and CSS
• At least 4 years of experience with Java Play framework or Java Spring
• Knowledge of JTA, JPA, Multithreading, asynchronous calls, app security
• At least 4 years of experience with database schemas, tables, relationships, functions, triggers, SQL, stored procedures. Postgres preferred
• At least 4 years of experience with Restful APIs
• Minimum knowledge of AWS
• Linux knowledge: software installation, commands, shell scripting
• Minimum knowledge of Application servers
• Familiarity and experience with Git

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (good to have)

• Experience with Python and Linux shell scripting
• Knowledge of Apache/Nginx web servers: installation/configuration on any platform
• Experience with Pipelines, Builds and Deployments, scripting
• Knowledge of Docker
