We are seeking a Senior Engineering Data Scientist to join our dynamic team and drive analytics capabilities that support our mission.

Position Responsibilities:

The Senior Engineering Data Scientist will serve as an individual contributor responsible for developing integrated roadmaps for analytics capability development. This role demands expertise in computing technologies, including Power BI and Tableau, as well as a diverse set of data analytics skills. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to define and deploy complex analytic solutions.

Additionally, the role will involve creating KPI dashboards to monitor business health, leveraging big data technologies, and applying machine learning techniques to derive actionable insights. The data will include engineering workforce and engineering corrective action board KPIs, along with Air Dominance divisional engineering health metrics and analysis. Knowledge of configuration management practices and a commitment to ethical AI use will further enhance the effectiveness of the analytics initiatives

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop integrated roadmaps for analytics capability development, leveraging both internal and external resources.
  • Determine strategies for the progression of analytics to align with organizational focus and priorities.
  • Lead initiatives to define and deploy highly complex descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, or prescriptive analytic solutions.
  • Evaluate organizational objectives, determine stakeholder needs, and identify requirements.
  • Choose best-fit methods, define algorithms, validate, and deploy models.
  • Perform necessary data preparation and enhancements to models.
  • Create and develop new methodologies to address unmet analysis needs.

  • Computing Technologies: Proficiency in multiple information technology areas, including Power BI and Tableau.
  • Data Analysis: Perform advanced data analysis, create descriptive statistics, and employ AI approaches.
  • Systems Thinking: Understand the inter-relationships within systems and anticipate the impact of changes.
  • Visualization Technologies: SQL statements, data blends, and data transformation/setup for optimal visualization development

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley, MO.

Travel may be required up to 5% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data science or analytics within an engineering context.
  • 8 or more years of experience performing Statistical Analysis
  • 5 or more years of experience using research tools and methods
  • 5 or more years of experience developing data science algorithms to aid and assist in optimization and predictive analysis
  • Proven experience with Power BI, Tableau, and other visualization tools.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 15 or more years of experience in data science or analytics within an engineering context.
  • MBA or advanced business degree.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $154,700 - $209,300
