Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Designing architecture using application and infrastructure architecture disciplines, patterns, and techniques; Developing front-end applications using HTML, Angular, ReactJS running on NodeJS runtime, and Bootstrap front-end toolkit; Designing and developing multi-tier and enterprise Java components using Java and J2EE; Building microservices applications using Spring, Spring Boot, and multi-threading; Deploying microservices applications into Apache Tomcat servers and WebSphere; Hosting microservices applications on AWS Cloud Services and Kubernetes platforms using Docker to package the applications for containers; Developing REST and SOAP web services that use JSON and XML to process requests; Developing Java applications that connect to PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB databases using SQL concepts and Hibernate; Designing and developing applications that process real-time streaming data between microservice components using Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ; Following CI/CD practices to streamline the development lifecycle using Maven and Jenkins; Hosting applications on Linux and Unix; Developing applications in Windows operating systems; Automating functional testing and unit testing using Cucumber and Selenium; Following Agile SDLC development processes; Monitoring and supporting the development, quality assurance and production environments using Splunk and Dynatrace.
