Job Title: Industrial Defender Engineer
Location: Newark, NJ (hybrid)
Duration: Full time
The Industrial Defender Engineer is responsible for ensuring the security, reliability, and integrity of operational technology (OT) environments, including industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA systems, and critical infrastructure. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing Industrial Defender to safeguard industrial assets, monitor cyber threats, and support compliance and incident response activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain the Industrial Defender platform to support asset discovery, configuration monitoring, log collection, and vulnerability management.
- Integrate the platform with diverse industrial systems including SCADA and network appliances.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and alerting structures to provide visibility into OT security posture.
- Monitor OT networks for anomalous activity, unauthorized changes, and security events.
- Perform investigation and triage of OT security alerts, escalating incidents as needed.
- Support incident response activities within industrial environments, including evidence collection and system analysis.
- Generate audit-ready reports in support of standards such as NERC CIP, NIST CSF, and corporate governance requirements.
- Assist with documentation for compliance activities, controls testing, and security assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Experience implementing or administering the Industrial Defender Platform.
- Strong understanding of OT network architectures, Purdue Model, and cybersecurity principles.
- Knowledge of NERC CIP, NIST SP 800-82, or similar frameworks.
- Understanding of risk assessment methodologies and incident response processes for OT.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a security-first mindset.
- Ability to work in complex, safety-critical environments.
