Role: Sr. Software Engineer
Location: Hazelwood, MO
Job Type: Full time

The Flight Simulation | Labs Software Engineer will design, develop, integrate, and test real-time models, tools, and operator-in-the-loop simulations of aircraft systems, displays, and tactical environments. These simulation products are utilized in the validation of current operational avionics, sensor, and weapon systems, as well as in the prototyping and development of next-generation systems, for the F18 Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft.
Position Responsibilities:
• The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment, while working creatively in all phases of the software development life cycle
• Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
• Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
• Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
• Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities. Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
• Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects
• Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
• Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
• Works under minimal direction
Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or other technical degree
• 3 years of work-related experience with C++/Object Oriented software development
• 3 years of work-related experience with Real-time or embedded software development
• Work-related software experience with C# and Python
• Experience working with Windows development environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Active US Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, JIRA, Version One
• Modeling & Simulation software development experience
• Basic knowledge of avionics architectures and integration
Typical Education/Experience:
• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
• In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
