Research Associate II - iPSc culture

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Research Associate II - iPSc culture for a contract assignment with one of our premier Pharmaceutical clients in South San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities :

• Looking for a self-motivated, intellectually curious Research Associate to support ongoing activities.
• Will be a skilled lab-based iPSc stem cell biologist who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative scientific environment.
• Primary responsibility will be to execute protocols to maintain and differentiate induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
• Other activities will include support for Cell Therapy related activities (e.g. cell differentiation, molecular biology analytics).
• Perform analytical workflows encompassing but not limited to gene-based assays and cell-based assays.
• Data acquisition, analysis, interpretation and communication of findings in internal scientific meetings
• Maintain compliance with lab safety, training and documentation

Required Skills:

• BS/MS in Stem Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or a related discipline
• Strong background in sterile aseptic mammalian cell culture techniques and experience working with human iPSCs
• Technical expertise in some of the following areas: molecular assays (NGS, RT-PCR, dd-PCR), iPSc differentiation, cell based functional assays, image acquisition/analysis, flow cytometry.
• Proven ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate effectively

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with single cell cloning and stem cell differentiation.
• Experience with delivery of genome engineering systems to iPSCs.
• Prior industry work experience.
• Experience using software for flow cytometry analysis, electronic lab notebook and data visualization. Some examples include: FlowJo, Benchling, Spotfire, GraphPad Prism, Geneious, Snapgene etc.
