Operational Risk Testing Analyst (HR Risk Focus)
Location: Vienna, VA (Hybrid Onsite 3x/week)
Pay: W2 $35 $40/hour (includes 56 hours PTO)

Position Summary
The Operational Risk Testing Analyst (HR Risk) will play a key role in evaluating and strengthening HR-related controls within the operational risk framework. This position focuses on executing and documenting control testing, identifying gaps, and supporting remediation efforts to ensure compliance and effective risk management across HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute control testing for HR processes following established scripts and schedules.
- Assess control design and operating effectiveness against predefined criteria.
- Document and report testing results to internal stakeholders.
- Support issue management, including documentation, root cause analysis, and remediation tracking.
- Collaborate with HR process owners, risk partners, and audit/compliance teams to ensure risk coverage.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies and control evaluation processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Risk Management, Audit, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in operational risk, audit, compliance, or internal controls testing (preferably in HR or financial services).
- Familiarity with RCSA methodology and control testing practices.
- Experience with issue management lifecycle (identification remediation tracking).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of HR operational processes and risks (e.g., hiring, onboarding, compensation, employee relations).
- Experience using GRC tools such as Archer or MetricStream.
- Understanding of relevant regulatory requirements (EEOC, FMLA, SOX, etc.).
- Prior experience within an HR or Operational Risk function.
