Summary :
The Level L1/L2 MongoDB Administrator is a senior-level position responsible for the design, implementation, and management of databases. This role involves overseeing the database infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. The Level 3 DBA provides technical expertise, leads database projects, and collaborates with other IT teams to deliver robust and scalable database services.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Management:
Possess in-depth knowledge of MongoDB architecture, installation, and administration.
Manage MongoDB, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
Database High Availability and Disaster Recovery:
Develop and test disaster recovery strategies to ensure data availability and business continuity.
Database Security:
Enforce security measures, access controls, and encryption to protect sensitive data.
Perform periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Database Performance Tuning:
Identify and resolve complex performance bottlenecks, slow queries, and resource contention issues in MongoDB.
Database Backup and Recovery:
Develop and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery strategies for MongoDb
Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures to ensure data recoverability.
Database Monitoring and Alerts:
Set up proactive monitoring and alerting for database health and performance issues.
Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to minimize service disruptions.
Database Patching and Upgrades:
Database Automation and Scripting:
Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to streamline routine database management tasks.
Database Documentation:
Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
Lead efforts to diagnose and resolve complex database-related issues.
Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support and other teams to address escalated incidents.
Database Project Management:
Lead database-related projects, such as database migrations, consolidations, and performance enhancements.
