NetSuite Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled NetSuite Engineer with deep expertise in Order-to-Cash(O2C) & Record-to-Report (R2R)* processes and accounting best practices. This role will serve as the technical and functional bridge between Finance and Technology, driving automation, process optimization, and scalability within our NetSuite environment. The successful candidate will lead the design, enhancement, and support of accounting systems that power our General Ledger (GL), Record-to-Report (R2R), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), including credit card process, Tax, and Treasury operations. As a senior member of the Finance Technology team, you will design and implement solutions that streamline accounting workflows, ensure compliance, and enhance financial reporting accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
System Architecture & Development
Lead the design, configuration, and customization of NetSuite to support R2R and accounting processes (GL, journals, allocations, consolidations, fixed assets, intercompany eliminations).
Architect scalable NetSuite solutions that integrate seamlessly with upstream and downstream systems (e.g., procurement, billing, expense management, data lake).
Develop and maintain SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, SuiteTalk (Web Services), and RESTlets to support automation and integrations.
Process & Accounting Alignment
Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Audit teams to translate accounting policies into system-enforced controls within NetSuite.
Act as the primary point of contact for Finance teams including Accounting, Tax, Treasury and RevOps.
Ensure compliance with SOX, GAAP, and audit requirements through configuration of role-based security, approvals, reconciliations, and audit trails.
Optimize financial close processes (journals, reconciliations, accruals, consolidations) to reduce close cycle time.
Build and enhance reporting frameworks (saved searches, financial reports, dashboards) to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
Support compliance and audit requirements through appropriate controls and documentation.
Technical Expertise
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for NetSuite R2R and OTC processes, guiding engineers, administrators, and analysts.
Serve as the primary technical advisor for business stakeholders.
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with clear documentation.
Establish engineering best practices in NetSuite development, including coding standards, testing, version control, and deployment.
Drive system performance, scalability, and reliability improvements.
Mentor junior engineers and provide architectural oversight for NetSuite-related initiatives.
Integration & Data Management
Oversee integrations with external systems (e.g., payroll, banking, consolidation tools, CRM platforms like Salesforce, Coupa, Concur).
Partner with Data Engineering teams to ensure accurate data flow into finance data lake/warehouse for analytics and compliance reporting.
Support data governance, master data management (chart of accounts, dimensions, entity hierarchy) in alignment with accounting standards.
Req Qualification:
New hiring manager at MngoDB has only been there for about 4 weeks.
Currently open because majority of her team is junior and only has 5-6 years of experience. Hired 2 senior people recently and they are stretched thin doing all of the work to support the junior team.
Wants this person to act as a very Senior Resource / Lead for the team
Need 10+ years of experience
100% remote a lot of the finance team is in PST but fine wherever they sit
2 rounds of interview one with her architect & then one with her
Wants them to start ASAP through the end of January
These will be full time positions but they do not have time right now to hire FTE so wants this person to be able to come in and help right away until they can fill the fte spots. There is a chance if they do a good job they could convert but she does not want to market it as CTH right now.
Looking for 10+ years of experience
Does not want people who have had a mix of ERPs if they have had others in the past that is okay but needs to have the last 6 years focused on truly Netsuite
They will be doing the true design and development themselves so need to be highly technical
Prefers someone from high tech companies (She spoke a lot about her previous company she came from Databricks and Palo Alto before that)
No other agencies on this right now she has an agency that she used to work closely with but does not want to go through onboarding them to MongoDB if she doesn t have to
