Job Description:

Pay Range: $65hr - $70hr

Responsibilities:

Google Cloud Platform Administration (70%):

  • Perform administrative tasks including user access management, service account creation, and cloud security provisioning.
  • Monitor the performance of Google Cloud Platform services and proactively address failures or job slowness in data pipelines.
  • Manage upgrades for services such as Cloud Composer and coordinate with cloud engineering teams.
  • Handle data security, PII tagging, and authorization; support compliance initiatives including SOX and CCPA.
  • Act as SRE for cloud cost management and log analytics in BigQuery.
  • Manage workload distribution and compute resource allocation for data analytics.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and resolve errors in the Google Cloud Platform platform.
Google Cloud Platform Development (30%):
  • Lead offshore platform engineers in task development and execution.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines to deploy artifacts across environments.
  • Create performance monitoring dashboards in Looker for BigQuery, including slot management and user query analytics.
  • Collaborate with Platform Architects to design and implement new frameworks, policies, and development guidelines.
  • Perform proof-of-concept (POC) on new Google Cloud Platform services and features, including BigQuery innovations.
  • Build security frameworks and conduct vulnerability assessments with the cloud security team.
  • Develop data engineering pipelines for data ingestion into Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services: Cloud Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Composer, and DataProc.
  • Experience with ETL processes, streaming data, Kafka, APIs, and SQL.
  • Proficiency in scripting using Python and Windows/Unix commands.
  • Expertise in cost management (SRE role) and log analytics for BigQuery.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git/Jenkins workflows, and managing SDLC across multiple environments.
  • Experience in automating service deployments and configuration updates is a plus.
