Engineering Manager
Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.\n\nThe work model for the role is hybrid.\n\nThis role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries division. \n\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\n Working with the customer to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.\n Creating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects and ensuring quality, timely implementation within the targeted cost.\n Coordinating with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured / staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.\n Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects.
Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or other engineering degree
  • 8+ years of experience preferred in engineering, working as an Engineer with Distributed Control Systems
  • Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes, and tools
  • Position will be based in Houston, TX
  • Reimbursement for relocation is not available
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
