Senior Cloud Engineer

Location: Remote

Start Date: January 12, 2026 (or upon clearance)

Duration: 12 Month Contract

Travel: Limited, possible

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure for mission-critical systems. This role involves collaboration across multiple teams to ensure operational excellence and compliance with security standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules and templates.
  • Implement and manage Azure services (VMs, Virtual Networks, Storage Accounts, App Services, AKS, Azure SQL).
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to ensure robust CI/CD pipelines and secure configurations.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and scaling of cloud resources.
  • Monitor system performance, optimize costs, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Enforce cloud governance, security best practices, and compliance standards.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and provide operational support.
  • Document architecture, standards, and automation processes.


Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience managing infrastructure in Microsoft Azure.
  • 2-3+ years of experience with Terraform, including module creation and CI/CD integration.
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity management.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, AKS/Kubernetes) and monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing Kubernetes deployments, Databricks environments, and other critical platforms.
  • Knowledge of security patching, vulnerability management, and FinOps practices.
