Banner Health is seeking an IT Business Consultant. This Person must possess the ability to learn technology and have strong customer communication skills. A bachelor's degree in a computer related field is desired but not required. Must demonstrate general knowledge of information technology, project management, and problem solving ability. Requires communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate, and interact across technical teams and at various levels. As is typical in this industry, variable shifts, hours and carrying/responding to incidents/texts will be required.
This position will be a based out of our Phoenix Corporate location with the ability to work remotely. Typical work hours are between 8am - 5pm, but will also include off hour responsibilities. A typical day will include attending meetings on issue resolution, project status, change control and maintenance. You will be joining a seasoned team to assist in leading our efforts as they relate to performing reviews on technical related equipment, and managing both software and hardware upgrades. This candidate will work with the team supporting our custom .Net applications and database infrastructure environments across the enterprise. This position will require extensive customer interactions as well as documentation of processes and standards for department. Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting business planning, tactical execution, and business integration of all digital initiatives; inclusive of, but not limited to, web site development, mobile platform and presence, internal application development, content management, self-service adoption, and ongoing maintenance of electronic channels. Incumbents are to provide knowledge, guidance, research and fact finding expertise to define, design and modify specifications and processes of complex information systems. This position is responsible for explaining related concepts to others as well as formulating system scope and objectives relative to the company's requirements as well as establishing system documentation standards and quality assurance methodologies for systems and applications.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Review and consult on design and content of all digital projects to ensure consistency across electronic platforms, efficiency and lack of redundancy, appropriateness of statistical analysis, and relevance to business and strategic objectives.
2. Develop solutions by applying accepted processes or is able to create new approaches to leverage technology from abstract information.
3. Provides high level expertise and guidance to the user community and mentors junior members of the department. Provides high level expertise to the development of fully integrated testing scenarios. Ensures that the information systems across multiple levels and states and their relationships are considered and are part of the comprehensive testing plans.
4. Translate emerging customer needs and technologies into actionable business terms and associated plans. Review and consult on design and content of all digital projects to ensure consistency across electronic platforms, efficiency and lack of redundancy, appropriateness of statistical analysis, and relevance to business and strategic objectives. Determines and designs end user training and curriculum for applications and systems. Facilitates the initial rollout and ongoing training of the user community.
5. Manage the process of Business Governance and prioritization of all enhancement requests to any and all electronic channels. Assure that the proper business case has been provided and the solution fits with overall strategic direction.
6. Identifies, investigates, tracks, and resolves complex project, system or application errors ensuring the solution is timely and of acceptable quality. Oversee the effective, correct, and consistent application of data analysis and decision making based on fact for all information feeds into the innovation process for the Digital Business Technology team. Promote the use of data analysis and fact based decision-making.
7. Designs and administers complex standards and policies regarding application and end user customer documentation. Ensures that department and company standards are implemented and consistently adhered to.
8. Maintains current professional and technical knowledge relating to the healthcare industry by attending educational workshops/conferences, establishing personal networks, and/or maintaining relevant certification or licensure as business needs require.
9. Assignments involve addressing business challenges and recommending best practices to improve services, processes or products. Incumbents have a depth of technical knowledge and are able to apply that expertise when taking a broad perspective in solving complex problems. Routinely makes decisions in non-standard situations and is guided by policies. Incumbents are expected to be able to influence others. This position is responsible for solving more complex problems for selected information applications or systems and coordinating with others outside the department as necessary to identify solutions. Work is performed in a fast paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. The incumbent has decision-making authority for projects and applications and works at peer level across diverse areas and multiple states. The incumbent participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, strategic and planning sessions, implementation activities, and supports functions company-wide.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a strong technical and business knowledge as typically obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree related field.
Must also have in-depth knowledge of information technology concepts specifically, user-centered design for mobile/web apps or large, content-rich consumer sites within job function as would normally be obtained in four to seven years' work experience in the field. Must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of information technology. Needs experience in medium scale project planning and reporting, either individual or team. Requires communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels. Incumbent will have skills to mentor less experienced team members. As is typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required.
