OverviewSeeking an experienced OpenShift Engineer / Architect to support a global consulting practice focused on enterprise automation and platform engineering. This role will be embedded within a high-performing team working on an advanced automation and orchestration platform designed to manage multi-cloud, on-prem, and edge infrastructure.The ideal candidate will specialize in Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes ecosystems, helping design and deliver scalable container platforms, automated deployment pipelines, and infrastructure solutions for enterprise clients, including modern workloads such as AI/ML and edge deployments.Key ResponsibilitiesOpenShift Architecture & Platform Engineering- Design, deploy, and optimize Red Hat OpenShift clusters across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
- Architect scalable and resilient container platforms for enterprise workloads
- Implement best practices for cluster security, networking, storage, and lifecycle management
Automation & Infrastructure as Code- Build and maintain IaC-driven OpenShift deployments using:
- Ansible Automation Platform (primary)
- Terraform and related tools
- Develop reusable automation blueprints for:
- Cluster provisioning
- Application onboarding
- Infrastructure integration
Solution Delivery- Serve as a technical lead on client engagements involving OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms
- Lead end-to-end implementations from design through deployment and handoff
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security requirements
Container & Application Platform Enablement- Support deployment and lifecycle management of containerized applications
- Integrate OpenShift with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains
- Enable enterprise use cases such as:
- Microservices platforms
- AI/ML workloads
- Edge/remote deployments
Technical Advisory & Pre-Sales Support- Partner with architecture and solutioning teams (including some international collaboration ~20%)
- Support technical workshops, demos, and proposals
- Provide SME-level guidance on:
- OpenShift architecture
- Kubernetes best practices
- Platform modernization strategies
Cross-Team Collaboration- Work closely with engineering and platform teams to refine automation capabilities
- Provide feedback on real-world deployment challenges and enhancements
- Collaborate with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams for integrated solutions
Required Skills & ExperienceOpenShift & Kubernetes Expertise (Core Requirement)- Deep hands-on experience with:
- Red Hat OpenShift (must-have)
- Kubernetes (cluster architecture, operations, scaling)
- Experience deploying and managing clusters across:
- On-prem environments
- Public cloud platforms
Infrastructure as Code & Automation- Strong experience with:
- Ansible Automation Platform
- Terraform (or similar IaC tools)
- Ability to automate full lifecycle of OpenShift environments
Container Platform Ecosystem- Experience with:
- Containerization (Docker/CRI-O)
- Ingress, service mesh, and networking within Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of:
- Cluster security and RBAC
- Storage (persistent volumes, CSI drivers)
CI/CD & DevOps Integration- Experience building pipelines with:
- Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar
- Integrating CI/CD with OpenShift for automated deployments
- Familiarity with GitOps and modern DevOps practices
Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure- Experience with:
- AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform
- Hybrid cloud architectures
- Exposure to:
- VMware vSphere or Nutanix (preferred)
Scripting & Development- Strong scripting experience in:
- Ability to extend automation workflows and integrate APIs
Soft Skills- Strong client-facing and consulting experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly adaptable with a passion for learning new platforms
- Ability to work independently in a distributed team environment
Preferred / Bonus Experience- Experience with:
- OpenShift in edge or distributed environments
- AI/ML infrastructure (GPU-enabled clusters, MLOps)
- Familiarity with:
- Cloud management/orchestration platforms (Cloudify, CloudBolt, Morpheus)
- Certifications:
- Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD)
- Red Hat Ansible
- AWS/Google Cloud Platform certifications
- Integration with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90.00 - $100.00/hr.
