Senior SAP Finance Consultant – S/4HANA Finance Transformation (On-site)

We are seeking a senior finance-oriented SAP professional to join a major ECC to SAP S/4HANA transformation program on the business side. This role will partner closely with Finance leadership and the Controller organization to ensure the future-state SAP solution is properly aligned with accounting standards, operational needs, and best practices.

The consultant will act as a trusted finance advisor and business partner, bridging finance processes and SAP solution design. This is not a technical configuration or IT-heavy role — the focus is on business requirements, process alignment, risk identification, and organizational readiness for a successful go-live.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Finance leadership, Controller team, and cross-functional stakeholders to support the finance workstream.
• Provide expert guidance on core SAP Finance processes (GL, AP, Fixed Assets, Costing).
• Identify finance process gaps, legacy workarounds, and configuration considerations ahead of the implementation.
• Validate solution design decisions to ensure they meet accounting and business requirements.
• Support business analysis, requirements gathering, readiness activities, and change preparation.
• Bring practical insights from prior S/4HANA transformations to accelerate decision-making and reduce risks.
• Work closely with stakeholders in an on-site environment to build strong relationships and alignment.

Required Experience

• Strong accounting/finance background with the ability to engage credibly with senior Finance and Controller leadership.
• Deep SAP Finance consulting experience, with solid knowledge of SAP S/4HANA.
• Proven track record in a similar business-side role on an SAP S/4HANA upgrade or greenfield implementation.
• Experience supporting manufacturing and distribution environments.
• Strong business analysis and process skills; ability to translate business needs into SAP solution requirements.
• Ability to identify risks, impacts, and readiness considerations in finance processes.

Preferred

• CPA or equivalent accounting credential is a plus.
• Prior project leadership or coordination experience (this is not a formal PM role).
