Description APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California. Work on test engineering initiatives throughout all phases of a product lifecycle from concept to repeat manufacturing to end of life. Provide production support engineering with respect to technically complex testing methods, procedures and failure analysis. Lead the optimization of test solutions and processes to enhance quality and operational efficiency in production. Design and develop technical test processes to improve quality and realize higher efficiency to reduce total test cost. Ensure new products are being tested in a logical and cost effective manner. Ensure manufacturing processes incorporate FMEA, and the product meets design targets using the Engineering Requirements Specification (ERS). Utilize statistical tools, such as GR&R, SPC and Cp/pCk to ensure processes/fixtures are scalable and are continuing to perform properly once qualified leveraging integration with factory data systems and shop floor systems. Plan, develop and implement procedures for the testing and evaluation of soon to be released products. Specify testing to be performed, compile data and make recommendations for testing or tester design changes. Improve product quality and cost by closing test gaps and correlations issues across the supply chain operations. Develop new and or improved processes through the application of theoretical and practical engineering. Provide direction and mentorship to third party vendors, automation suppliers, and contract manufacturers. Act as a technical lead to drive test engineering projects. Serve as a technical resource to other engineering groups and project leaders. Drive failure analysis and machine issue resolution when working with suppliers and contract manufacturers. Prepare and present concise test engineering program status updates to the executive team. International travel required 15%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 - $258,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Display technology manufacturing processes and failure modes, including display technology test coverage and instruments used for high-volume production.
  • Identifying test station issues and production process drifts from manufacturing test data.
  • Manufacturing testing for cost reduction, including performance testing and test coverage scoping.
  • Performing test design review, including failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Vendor management to support manufacturing operations, including resource planning, technical training, equipment readiness, regular reporting and defining escalation paths.
  • Conceptualizing lens tester design and conducting DFM review.
