The QA Engineer position focuses on ensuring thorough and timely testing of applications, systems, and services. The role requires adherence to industry best practices, executing various types of QA and testing activities including functional, automated, and performance testing. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with developers, managers, and clients to track and resolve issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review project requirements to define comprehensive test cases for complex software projects.
- Develop strategic test plans and collaborate with cross-functional team members for review.
- Create and implement automated test scripts.
- Collaborate with the QA team to organize testing strategies and prioritize responsibilities.
- Conduct appropriate testing to identify and report software defects, and assist in defect triage.
- Work closely with developers to troubleshoot software issues.
- Collaborate with development, product management, and technical support to meet quality objectives within schedule constraints.
- Provide testing metrics and reports for the QA dashboard to effectively communicate test status to the team and management.
- Log and track issues using a defect tracking system.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous experience as a QA Analyst for enterprise-level applications.
- Proficient in QA methodology and processes.
- Familiarity with structured test methodologies.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Excellent verbal communication skills are essential.
Bonus:
- Test automation experience (Selenium is a plus).
- Website development experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Jira is preferred.
