We are looking for a Senior MicroStrategy Developer with MicroStrategy certification and deep expertise in metadata architecture and master data management. This 5-month remote contract offers $65/hr. The role focuses on designing, optimizing, and maintaining the MicroStrategy environment, with emphasis on metadata cleanup, performance optimization, and establishing best practices for a scalable BI ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
MicroStrategy Development & Architecture
Design and develop MicroStrategy reports using platform analytics or Enterprise Manager.
Provide architectural guidance on metadata design, object reuse, and dependency management.
Ensure adherence to best practices for logical data modeling and semantic layer design.
Metadata & Master Data Management
Develop and maintain MicroStrategy metadata aligned with enterprise master data standards.
Ensure consistent definitions, hierarchies, and business rules across projects.
Analyze metadata dependencies and assess impacts across reports and dashboards.
Environment Optimization & Cleanup
Optimize MicroStrategy environments for performance, scalability, and usability.
Identify, document, and remove unused, redundant, or obsolete metadata objects.
Establish lifecycle management standards for metadata hygiene.
Collaboration & Support
Partner with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into BI solutions.
Mentor junior developers and report authors.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to performance and metadata.
Qualifications
Required
MicroStrategy Certification (Architect or equivalent).
7+ years of hands-on MicroStrategy experience in enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of MicroStrategy metadata, schema objects, and logical data models.
Solid knowledge of master data concepts, shared dimensions, and enterprise hierarchies.
Proven experience optimizing environments and performing metadata cleanup.
Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and data warehouses.
Excellent communication skills for technical and business collaboration.
Experience with SaaS data warehouses (Snowflake preferred).
Preferred
MicroStrategy administration and security experience.
Familiarity with data governance and metadata management practices.
Experience in cloud-based BI environments.
