B Side Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday & every other Wednesday, 6 AM - 6 PM
Job Brief:
We are seeking an experienced Level 4 Data Center Technician to join our team. This role involves advanced break-fix support for GPUs, servers, networking equipment, and cabling, as well as managing tickets through ITSM tools. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience deploying and maintaining fully populated GPU or network racks in a data center environment, including tasks such as rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot-air containment, and overhead cable tray installation. Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies-copper and fiber (SM, MM, MPO)-is essential, along with expertise in routing, dressing, and connector installation.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks across Levels 1-3 as needed, including:
    • Move, inspect, and install servers and switches.
    • Cable equipment according to wire maps and standards.
    • Verify connectivity with network administrators.
    • Install additional components (NICs, drives, memory).
    • Unbox, prep, and audit servers and consumables.
    • Troubleshoot server issues and isolate problems.
    • Order and replace defective parts; return faulty components to vendors.
    • Update firmware and configure IP addresses.
    • Assist network admins with cabling, optics replacement, and hardware upgrades.
    • Temporarily rack and stack equipment for remote configuration.
  • Deploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
  • Perform break-fix tasks on GPUs, servers, network, and cabling.
  • Manage tickets using ITSM tools.
  • Interpret BOMs to confirm materials and components.
  • Install, test, and label copper and fiber infrastructure.
  • Handle and install optical modules (SFP, QSFP).
  • Scope and clean fiber connectors (SC, LC, MPO).
  • Rack and stack equipment; patch fiber and copper cables.
  • Lead and manage team activities and project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and data center protocols.
  • Provide daily updates and documentation using tracking tools, photos, and MS Office.
  • Work with DC power and DC-powered equipment.
  • Travel as required.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of deployment and/or break-fix experience in a data center environment.
  • Expertise in installing fully populated GPU or network racks.
  • Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies (copper, fiber SM/MM/MPO).
  • Experience with optical modules (SFP, QSFP) and fiber cleaning.
  • Skilled in racking, stacking, and patching fiber/copper cables.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Ability to work with DC power systems.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with telecom engineering designs for enterprise-level data centers.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Certifications:

  • CompTIA A+, Server+, or equivalent experience.
  • CCENT or equivalent experience.
  • CCNA certification preferred.
  • MCP/MSCE certification preferred.
  • Windows OS experience.
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) preferred.

Location:
Onsite in Mt. Pleasant, WI. Seeking a team based in Southeastern Wisconsin for GPU cluster deployments across multiple sites. Work schedule follows a 3x4x12 rotation across all core shifts.
Skills:
Data center operations, deployment, fiber optic cabling, rack and stack, troubleshooting, Cat5/Cat6, GPU installation.
Experience Level:
Intermediate to Advanced.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $42.00/hr.
