Position Overview: NOC Technician II (Charlotte, NC OR Columbia, SC)

Responsible for monitoring and supporting a multi-platform telecommunications network that includes SONET, DWDM, IP, and Ethernet technologies. This role provides in-depth support across core transport, IP, Ethernet, and voice service infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the first line of defense for monitoring and managing core, distribution, last-mile, and customer-premise voice and data installations.

  • MUST HAVE Ciena 6500 training and experience

  • Research and document remediation strategies, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of deployed technologies and their operational impact.

  • Prioritize issue resolution in a 24/7 network operations environment, ensuring minimal disruption and swift response.

  • Perform basic system administration, including troubleshooting, patch management, and scripting to automate recurring tasks.

  • Act as an escalation point for technical issues from other internal teams, providing resolution and expertise as needed.
