Genesis10 is currently seeking a Systems Engineer for a permanent position with our client out of Brookfield, WI. 3 on 2 off hybrid in Brookfield, WI at their HQ

Summary:
Under the guidance of the Senior IS Operations Manager, the Systems Engineer ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions. This position is also responsible for end-user support of these technologies and systems.

Minimum three years of experience in Level 1 role or overall related experience.
Mentor and provide technical direction to Technical Support staff.
Lead new user system training.

Level 3: Lead Systems Engineer
Able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities noted in this job description.
Minimum three years of experience in Level 2 role or overall related experience.
Demonstrated experience of working independently with minimal to no direction.
Under the supervision of IS operations leadership, responsible for the technical direction of the Systems Engineering team.
Partner and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve endpoint interoperability challenges, maintain seamless operations across platforms, and ensure the implementation of effective technical solutions by testing and then planning and executing an implementation plan.
Provide operational support for legacy and cloud technologies, mentor and cross-train the team members on new and existing technologies, and assess advancements in system technologies to guide strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops in a hybrid cloud/on-prem environment, and manage virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere and Nutanix AHV.
  • Administer Active Directory (on-premises and Azure AD), including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity synchronization.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and rapid recovery capabilities.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for escalated incidents and service requests from the Service Desk.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and conduct capacity planning across all infrastructure layers.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies through patch management and vulnerability remediation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on application deployments and infrastructure projects, maintain documentation for systems architecture and procedures, and participate in on-call rotation and after-hours maintenance.
Qualifications:
  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years of related experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, including both Citrix Cloud and on-premises deployments, as well as proficiency with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Nutanix AHV.
  • They should possess a deep understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, along with experience in VDI performance tuning, Citrix Profile Management, and FSLogix.
  • A solid background in backup and disaster recovery solutions like Veeam, Commvault, or Rubrik is essential.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and system management is important.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities are required, and knowledge of Azure infrastructure and DevOps practices is a plus.
  • This position requires one to work independently and effectively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products is necessary.
  • This position also requires proficiency in the use of computer systems.
  • Other necessary skills include excellent oral and written communication skills, accurate proofreading and troubleshooting skills, maintain accurate records, the ability to exercise discretion with confidential information, excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to use various office equipment.

Compensation:
We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
