Job Title: Teradata DBA
Location: Charlotte, NC/Jacksonville, FL
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Client Industry: Enterprise BFSI client
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Standard working hours
About the Role:
We are looking for a Teradata DBA with deep expertise in Teradata V17.20+, tools/utilities, scripting, and enterprise data warehouse operations. This role supports multiple AITs and environments dev, UAT, DR, and production requiring strong ownership, technical leadership, and the ability to work independently in a high-availability ecosystem.
Top Three skills:
1. Advanced Teradata DBA Expertise (10+ years)
- Strong hands-on experience with Teradata V17.20+
- Deep knowledge of Teradata RDBMS physical & logical design
- Core DBA tasks: DDL, SQL scripting, performance tuning, troubleshooting, deployments, DR, storage/archival, backup/restore.
2. Proficiency with Teradata Tools & Utilities Including:
- BTEQ, ARCMAIN, FASTLOAD, MLOAD, TPUMP, TPT
- TDWM, Viewpoint, Data Mover, DBQL, PDCR
- Ability to support multi-environment setups (dev, UAT, DR, prod).
3. Strong Unix/Linux & Mainframe Scripting/Automation Skills
- Ability to automate DBA processes using Unix/Linux scripts (KSH, BASH, PERL)
- Working knowledge of Mainframe job execution & interfaces (JCL, TSO, ISPF, FICON, NDM)
- Supports job scheduling, archive processing, and integration tasks.
What We re Looking For:
- Teradata DBA with 10+ years experience & Teradata V17.20+
- Strong understanding of Teradata physical & logical design
- Proficient with Teradata tools and utilities
- Familiar with Mainframe systems & job execution
- Experience with Viewpoint, Data Mover, backup/restore tools
- Able to write and use Unix/Linux scripts
- Proficient in Teradata suite (Teradata Studio, TDWM, BTEQ, ARCMAIN, FASTLOAD, MLOAD, TPUMP, TPT, DBQL, PDCR
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $64 $65 per hour
This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
